Expert Gardening Advice:

Brian states to many people buy with their eyes and plant their garden based on what is seen above the ground.

"It's important to make sure the soil is right, then start with
the roots to establish a butterfly garden. Starting here, then building for the above ground visuals ensures a solid garden
where the butterflies will come back year after year."

Brian also says durability is important. Learn the difference in hardy vs. a showy flower.

"For example, standard Rudbeckia, or Black-eyed Susan's,
are hardy for winter environments. Eye-appealing hybrids such
as Rudbeckia Cherry Brandy and the Denver Daisy are very
beautiful and do well in warmer zones. We have many people
who already have established gardens that will purchase these types of flowers knowing they may die after winter and need
to be replaced the next gardening season. This is a chance
these gardeners take because they just love the flower!".
